Kerry Mcfeetors, SVP, GSM, KRG

Posted by Katz Media Group on Mar 29, 2019 9:30:00 AM
kerry hubspot Kerry McFeetors is Senior Vice President and General Sales Manager at Katz Radio Group. Kerry began her career over 20 years ago as an AE for Katz Radio.   She became one of our youngest sales managers when Mark Gray promoted and moved her out west to run the SF Katz office.  She was quickly recruited back to the east coast as manager of the Katz Radio NY office. Kerry was promoted again - and became the first female GSM at Katz Radio.  Today, Kerry is the SVP / GSM for the entire Katz Radio Group.  Kerry works hard to keep everyone positive and always leads by example. She cares a ton about our people and culture. With her quick wit and desire to mix some fun in with hard work, she came up with what one training class called “Kerry-isms” - and has created many great nicknames for our people - you know who you are!

How has working at Katz impacted your career?

I began working at Katz two weeks after graduating college. My intentions were to stay here a year while I figured out what I wanted to do with my life -- either go back to grad school or join the peace corp. Here I am 22 years later. Our people and our culture have led me to make Katz my career. I loved it here immediately and am very proud to be part of this dynamic company. It's rare to be able to find a "people first company" where Senior Management truly cares about their people and each individual's success.

What advice would you give women entering the workforce now?

I have two daughters and here is what I will tell them:
- Find something you are passionate about and pursue it relentlessly.
- Be confident, stay motivated, and keep learning.
- Make sure you are growing by taking on new challenges and opportunities.
- Don't be afraid of that "sick/nervous feeling in your stomach"-i t means you are pushing yourself to try new things!
- Maintain your integrity ALWAYS!
- Who you work for matters most -- you work for an individual, not a company-be sure they deserve you.
- Be respected for working hard, caring, and delivering on what you say you will do.
- Find a boss and company where your voice matters and you can be you.
- When you find that unique opportunity and boss that meets all of these criteria--GO ALL IN!

Share a "fun fact" about yourself!

One of my job responsibilities is to run our training program. Unbeknownst to me, apparently I have a number of colloquialisms. My trainees still enjoy quoting some back to me such as, "don't let the crabs in the bucket pull you down" and "don't hook your cart to the wrong caboose."

Who or what is inspiring to you?

I'm most inspired by recruiting great talent for our company and watching them grow into our future leaders.

What attribute or skill has helped you the most in your career?

I think my candor, integrity, and ability to always see the human side of any situation have served me best in my career and in life.
