Monica Moraca works for Katz Media Group as Payroll Manager. Monica joined Katz Media more than 21 years ago to work as an assistant in our payroll department. Monica has achieved many successes and as a result was promoted multiple times; eventually becoming the Manager of the Payroll Department in 2001. Monica has made many positive changes to our payroll processes and systems and has been a very steady and influential member of our corporate team. We are very happy that she is a part of the Katz Media Group
How has working at Katz impacted your career?
In October, I will be celebrating 22 years with Katz. I started as a Payroll Assistant not knowing anything about payroll (prior to Katz I worked in a hospital as a medical assistant) and worked my way up learning everything that was offered to me. Over the years, I had the pleasure working with so many talented employees and with that came the knowledge and perseverance of wanting to move forward in my career and gain the experience needed to where I am today. Working at Katz has instilled in me the importance that hard work and good work ethics will always pay off.
What advice would you give women entering the workforce now?
My advice for women entering the workforce is always be honest with yourself and others. Take pride in what you do and don't be afraid to make mistakes. Life is full of challenges and only you can make the difference on how you plan to succeed.
Share a "fun fact" about yourself!
I love to raise orchids. Currently, I have 15 orchid plants at home and at various times they would bloom at least three times a year.
Who or what is inspiring to you?
The person who inspires me the most is my sister. Her outlook on life and family has helped me realize that we should not take things for granted but instead take hold of all that is precious to us and make the most of it.
What attribute or skill has helped you the most in your career?
Perseverance. My belief is, if you have your heart set on something, make it your goal to achieve it. If you let it go by, there is no turning back.
